OUR PHILOSOPHY

Physical education provides students with the knowledge, processes, and skills to become physically educated, physically fit, and responsible in their physical activity choices and behaviors for a lifetime.  We work on on achieving Illinois's standards for physical education, which are grouped into three strands:  Acquire movement skills and understand concepts needed to engage in health-enhancing physical activity, achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness based upon continual self-assessment, and develop team-building skills by working with others through physical activity.

A physically educated person:

Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.

Demonstrates understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.

Participates regularly in physical activity.

Achieves and maintains a health-enhancing lefel of physical fitness.

Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings.

Values physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.

Students will be on a rotation of activity days, fitness days, and game days. Sportsmanship is very important in all activities throughout he week. We look forward to seeing all the different ability levels and growth in all of our students. Teaching students that fitness is and should be part of your daily routine for life.

PE logs will be checked every two weeks. They can be turned in any day of the week that they are due. There will be a chance for partial credit on the following Monday.
